Why media studies?

Students studying media will learn to analyze the collection, production and spread of ideas to become well-informed and ethical media analysts, producers and critics in a media-rich world.

  • The program prepares students to analyze the contemporary public influence that takes place primarily in media contexts, including print, radio, television, social media and internet-based traditional media.
  • Students cover a range of mediums, including photography, audio and video.
  • Students will analyze the types of influence, insights into media culture and ethics of media.

Courses & Organizations

The media studies curriculum teaches social, historical, political and cultural aspects of the media, as well as interdisciplinary study of aesthetics, production and social influence.
